Welfare Regulations

Provision of appropriate welfare facilities is essential for all businesses with the failure to provide sufficient quality facilities not only demotivating employees but also exposing the employer to action by the Health and Safety Executive.

The HSE mandate:

Clean and working toilets

Washbasins with hot and cold running water

Soap and towels

A sink large enough to wash face, hands and forearms

Changing areas

Facilities for drying clothes

Storage

Areas for rest and eating with enough tables and seats (with backs) for the number of workers using them at any one time

Facilities to prepare and eat food and a way of boiling water

Ventilation and heating

Access to drinking water

Traditional portaloos only meet part of these requirements whilst modern towable welfare units provide a comprehensive solution.
